The 2.25-mile Bear Trail around campus is mostly concrete, but three-fourths of a mile between the Dutton Garage and the intersection of Second Street and Bagby Avenue is a softer decomposed granite surface that narrows to just a few feet in some spots. Construction Project Manager AJ Mueller said that about two-thirds of that stretch is currently being upgraded to an 8-foot-wide concrete sidewalk, while the remaining third near Dutton Garage is tentatively scheduled for the same work.

A new miniature running trail, called the Cub Trail, will be added to campus this summer, which will create a half-mile loop around the rugby fields near the Baylor Sciences Building.
Themed runs such as paint runs are a growing trend. On Halloween night, the Baylor community will have the opportunity to participate in a glow-in-the-dark paint run sponsored by the Fitness and Wellness departments.
“We wanted to come up with a fun way to promote fun and fitness to our students with various activities,” said Van Davis, assistant director of fitness.
