Every year the Lariat editorial board interviews student body officer candidates in order to understand platforms, gauge abilities and represent the student body’s voice. This year’s editorial board has chosen to continue the endorsements. We are endorsing junior Kelly Rapp for student body president on a 5-0-0 vote and Raechel Adams for external vice president on a 5-0-0 vote.
Some students’ dreams came true Wednesday night.
Wednesday evening, we hosted a remarkable event on the Baylor University campus. Former U.S secretary of state Dr. Condoleezza Rice held a packed house at Waco Hall in rapt attention as she spoke with great candor and insight about her experiences as our nation’s chief diplomat. Dr. Rice described the life experiences that influenced her personal and professional journey, and offered her perspectives on critical issues in the areas of world affairs and current U.S. foreign policy.

Former United States secretary of state and national security adviser Dr. Condoleezza Rice will join Baylor President Ken Starr at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Waco Hall to talk about her new book and discuss her time working in President George W. Bush’s administration.
