The Fulbright Program, which offers U.S. government-funded experiences to recent college graduates, has been accepting more Bears than ever. Eighteen Baylor graduates received a 2024-2025 Fulbright scholarship and a record 48 have been named semi-finalists for the 2025-2026 school year.

Baylor’s Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in STEM recently received national recognition for their efforts in celebrating culture on campus.
Parking Services won the award due to its mascot, Parker. An orange traffic cone with a cartoonish smiley face, the mascot is regularly featured on the Instagram account, @buparkingwithparker. Over the past year, the account has gained a little over 1,000 followers.
Baylor has been held in high regard for its research for many years, and the legacy is continuing with Dr. Caleb Martin. The associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry has become the university’s first Humboldt Research Fellow for his research into and application of the boron element.
The inaugural Baylor Fulbright Day honored the success of past Fulbright winners and this year’s finalists on Tuesday. The event comes after Baylor’s record-breaking success in the program in recent years.
Dr. Jay Banner is moving from Longhorn to Bear territory next year following his Robert Foster Cherry Award win.
