Men's Basketball
Redshirt sophomore guard Cameron Carr is the lone player on Baylor’s roster to share a practice court with last season’s team. The former four-star and ESPN top 100 recruit is coming into the season carrying the burden of an expected leader for the Bears.

Looking for revenge in the Big 12 Championship semifinals against its rival, No. 3 seed Baylor equestrian dropped an 11-9 heartbreaker to No. 2 seed Oklahoma State in the first postseason match of the season Friday at KSM Bear Creek Farms in Burleson.
No. 10 Baylor equestrian took an early lead against No. 7 Fresno State but faltered in Reining and Flat, leading to an 11-9 decision in favor of the Bulldogs Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center in California.
In front of a home crowd excited for the beginning of the season, the Bears delivered a dominating performance against the traveling South Dakota State Jackrabbits with a 14-3 victory.
Tennis
No. 19 Baylor men’s tennis broke through the first round defeating Nebraska 4-1 Saturday morning at Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station.
Boise State upset No. 22 Baylor women’s tennis Friday at the Texas Tennis Center, 4-3, knocking out the Bears in the first round of the NCAA Team Championship tournament.
After landing a fifth consecutive NCAA Championship bid Monday, No. 22 Baylor women’s tennis is heading down to Austin to take on Boise State Friday. The final rounds of the tournament with the top 16 teams will be hosted at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center.
Golf
Baylor Women’s Golf begins their season next week with the Folds of Honor Collegiate Invitational.
Baylor Men’s Golf season begins Sept. 8 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate Invitational, marking a fresh start for the Bears.
Baylor men’s golf carded its best round of the week Thursday but closed the season in a tie for 14th in the Big 12 Championship with a 69-over 1,189 at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla.

In the 2023 season, Major League Baseball officials added the pitch clock to aid the speed of the game. After the season and now into 2024, I’ve seen that the pitch clock has been very useful and has accelerated the pace of the game.
