For the first time since 2019, Baylor baseball completed an Opening Weekend sweep, taking down Youngstown State twice, 16-4 and 12-4, as part of a day-night doubleheader Saturday at Baylor Ballpark.
Baylor men’s basketball walked off the court at the Foster Pavilion to roaring applause and singing as John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” blasted over the speakers following the Bears’ 74-71 win over West Virginia in overtime.
After a 90-minute delay, Baylor men’s tennis faced off against No. 1 TCU Friday night inside the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Facility, ultimately losing 4-1.
It only took one game for Baylor baseball’s pitching staff to dominate under first-year pitching coach Sean Snedeker. Earning the Opening Day start, Calder racked up a career-high 13 strikeouts — the most by a Baylor pitcher since 2011 — and allowed just one run on two hits in five innings of work en route to the Bears’ 10-3 win over Youngstown State.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
