A six-run first inning from the Aggies proved to be the difference-maker Wednesday night in front of a packed Getterman Stadium.
The day started with a twinge of feeling overwhelmed as rain melted into the dirt pathways and people poured into the festival. This was my first time attending a renaissance festival, and I was eager to see what all the hype was about.
While it was a rainy day at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival, that certainly did not stop us from indulging in the multitude of delicious eats the festival included. From French pastries to fried macaroni and cheese, the faire did not lack in divine dishes.
For the past three years, Baylor Poetry Club has hosted Sic ‘Em Slam, a slam poetry event open to students and staff to perform original slam poems in the Bill Daniel Student Center.

Waco Pride Network hosted its annual OUT on the Brazos event and welcomed members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies to the banks of the Brazos River.
The Sunshine Recovery House is raising money through a GoFundMe to replace the windows on its home, The Pink Lady, before winter sets in.
The Cove, a nonprofit organization that addresses youth homelessness, celebrated its sixth birthday with a fundraiser tailgate Thursday evening at its facility at 524 West Waco Drive. According to The Cove’s press release, the tailgate was a way to celebrate the accomplishment of serving nearly 500 teenagers experiencing homelessness in the Heart of Texas Region.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
