Step into any recently renovated house, cafe or office and chances are you’ll see the same thing: gray walls, black trimmings, white surfaces. Perhaps a splash of beige here and there. “Modern,” “clean” or “minimalistic” are terms used to describe most places today. But at what point did the world exchange vibrant color for muted tones?
For all the negative habits you are certainly instilling in yourself during your time at Baylor, there’s one positive habit worth forming that makes up for it: take a short trip out into nature.
Big names at Baylor, including President Dr. Linda Livingstone, Vice President for Student Life Dr. Sharra Hynes and head football coach Dave Aranda, will join at noon Friday in the SUB Bowl to perform a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Baylor women’s basketball continued its portal push Tuesday, bringing in junior guards Trinity Turner and Tianna Thompson from Georgia and Ole Miss. The additions give Nicki Collen a true floor general, a proven perimeter shooter and more momentum as the Bears reshape their roster for the season ahead.

As thousands of people travel to Waco for homecoming weekend, the Baylor University Police Department and Baylor Department of Public Safety gave several tips for staying safe throughout the eventful days.
The group has met to create a social club for women seeking friendship and fun within their community since 1989. While most women are from Waco, anyone in McLennan County is invited to join.
Mission Waco offers a chance for groups to be driven through Waco and learn about the side of the city that isn’t often shown on their Other Side of Waco tour.
Beautify the Brazos will take place Friday at the Waco Convention Center, providing citizens with an opportunity to volunteer and create long-lasting impacts that will benefit the environment and Waco residents.
Covid-19
“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
State News
Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
