Coordinated by Computing for Compassion, the Association of Computing Machinery and Baylor Cyber, the 24-hour Wacode Hackathon challenged contestants to develop software with a positive social impact and a solution to a real humanitarian problem, all in the time-constrained environment of a hackathon.
Baylor softball won a 3-2 rubber match over Utah on a walk-off hit from sophomore Sa’Mya Jones, giving the Bears their first Big 12 series win since March.
For the first time, Baylor hosted “Awake,” an all-night prayer and worship event that ran from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. The gathering, which began at Wheaton College, invited students to move through structured periods of prayer, reflection and worship in a setting that emphasized stillness over spectacle.
Baylor tennis fell to the Horned Frogs 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday afternoon.

“Waco ISD does intend to include the AP African American Studies course in possible 2022-2023 high school course offerings later this school year to gauge student interest,” Cornblum said via email.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.
