“My vision is that Baylor will actually come to be known for the way we disagree with one another, for the way we try to bridge gaps in understanding,” Villegas said. “Those are the things I want Baylor to be known for, but it’s going to take our community leaning into some of these opportunities in order to get us to a place where that is just the water we swim in.”

Musicians dressed to the nines and numerous attendees poured into Jones Hall on Thursday night for the Baylor Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble concert. This was no ordinary show, as world-renowned composer and conductor Frank Ticheli made a guest appearance at the concert where students played several of his compositions.

In ancient Greece, athletes competed in events for a chance at glory, fame and prestige. In 2024 at Baylor University, Greek life competes in intramural sports with the same goals.

One of two suspects in robberies of two local cash lending stores was arrested on Baylor campus at 3:43 a.m. Tuesday, hours after an on-campus manhunt.

MSPL follows the model “Pray, Stay, Raise and Go” when facing disasters, according to Sarah Walker, BearAid senior coordinator for service. Directly following the disaster, BearAid stays in Waco, allowing first responders to do their jobs and praying for those affected. Now, BearAid and MSPL are in the raise phase.
