On Jan. 22, 1927, a tragic bus-train collision near Round Rock took the lives of ten Baylor basketball players. These young men were more than just athletes; they were cherished members of the Baylor community.
Aurora, Colo., senior and Student Body President Lily Davis said that one thing she hopes to implement is a game day participation incentive modeled after one created by the University of Cincinnati which could see students winning prizes for attending games.
“So by incorporating the technology, it will allow us to take virtual programming into pockets of the community and or communities that otherwise could not get here, and we can do that at a much more affordable rate,” Wiley said.
After weeks and even months of choreographing, practicing and dancing ‘til they drop, the performers of Pigskin had their moment of glory tonight. After the homecoming court was announced and the curtain was dropped, it was showtime.

J.H. Hines Elementary School students walked hand-in-hand with their volunteers through the Mayborn Museum Complex, sprawled on the floor as they drew pictures of artifacts and got a chance to apply their reading and writing skills in a new way last week.
On Friday several alumni of the Waco State Home joined author Sherry Matthews and shared their often-heartbreaking stories about growing up in the facility, as chronicled in Matthews’ new book.
In the new book “We Were Not Orphans: Stories from the Waco State Home,” author Sherry Matthews delves into the history of the children’s home and exposes a fettered past of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
It only takes one courageous person to make a change. That may be one of the most indelible lessons from Sherry Matthews’ new book, “We Were not Orphans: Stories from the Waco State Home,” which collects the oral histories of more than 50 Waco State Home alumni.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Lilia Gonzalez, director of nurses, said Health Services would remain available to monitor potential measles outbreaks and help students. Though the Texas measles outbreak has ended, Health Services continues providing preventative measures for other potential outbreaks.
