Too often are students told to “get a job that will get you the most money” or “you should be just like so-and-so” or “this career is the only one that’s worth it.” These statements are what causes students to become blinded to all of the opportunities that are available to them –– the opportunities that will make them happy and feel like the work they’re doing is worth something.
While TikTok may start as a harmless distraction, it often evolves into an obstacle getting in the way of productivity. Many students find themselves losing hours to unproductive scrolling, falling into procrastination spirals that eat away at valuable study time.
Students looking to embrace the great outdoors this semester can take advantage of a lineup of activities offered by Outdoor Adventure. From scenic hikes and camping trips to rock climbing and kayaking, the spring schedule promises opportunities for exploration, fitness and fun catering to all skill levels.
“Chinese people care about togetherness and bonding with their families,” Wang said. “So during the Lunar New Year, many will take a break from work and school and go through the process of traveling from the city and urban areas back to where they grew up.”

That is the challenge that some runners faced at the second annual Gut Pak Run on Saturday.
Two women and 20 men from Baylor and surrounding communities accepted that challenge, out of the 105 total participants, and ate a large gut pak while running the race.

Though many Texans might forget the significance of March 2 in Texas history, the Historic Waco Foundation will be celebrating Texas Independence Day a little early with food, fun and music.
Tonight, Wacoans are invited to participate in the third annual Texas Independence Day Celebration of the Historic Waco Foundation.
Common Grounds customers will soon see a change in cups. The coffeehouse will replace its Styrofoam cups with completely decomposable cups as a part of their green initiative.
This will make the shop Styrofoam-free. Blake Batson, owner of Common Grounds, said the shop will order its first shipment of Styrofoam-free cups Monday.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”

Lilia Gonzalez, director of nurses, said Health Services would remain available to monitor potential measles outbreaks and help students. Though the Texas measles outbreak has ended, Health Services continues providing preventative measures for other potential outbreaks.
