With flu season just around the corner, Baylor is making it easy and free for students, faculty and staff to stay healthy with a series of mobile flu clinics running from Sept. 19 to Nov. 12. This time of year often brings a spike in illness, but the inclusion of mobile clinics provide campus with quick, convenient care.
Recidivism refers to how often people reenter the justice system after their first offense. Texas reports a 21% recidivism rate as of 2022, well below the national average of 68%. Despite this, Judge Rob Swanton of the specialty courts said there is a lack of funding and a shortage of mental health providers for these individuals.
“It’s a very ambitious plan, but it’s the right plan for Baylor at this time,” Brickhouse said.

MSPL follows the model “Pray, Stay, Raise and Go” when facing disasters, according to Sarah Walker, BearAid senior coordinator for service. Directly following the disaster, BearAid stays in Waco, allowing first responders to do their jobs and praying for those affected. Now, BearAid and MSPL are in the raise phase.
