The No. 6 Baylor women’s tennis team has gotten off to a hot start in the 2015 dual-match season, and the Lady Bears exhibited their current state of dominance with four-straight shutouts on Friday and Sunday to continue their unbeaten season at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.

The stakes keep stacking higher for the No. 3 Lady Bears. Baylor set itself apart from this season’s Big 12 Conference women’s basketball teams over the weekend. The Lady Bears are the only undefeated team remaining in the Big 12 after reaching a 9-0 league record with a 66-58 win over Kansas on Sunday at the Ferrell Center.

The No. 3 Lady Bears handled the TCU Horned Frogs with a 89-67 victory Tuesday night in Fort Worth to extend their winning streak to 18 games and remain perfect in the Big 12 Conference.

After posting a successful 3-0 record last week, Baylor women’s basketball will look to continue its successful start to non-conference play against UT-Pan American at 7 p.m. today at the Ferrell Center.

Waco has flourished into one of the nation’s epicenters of women’s basketball. For the second year in-a-row, the Lady Bears will host the Basketball Travelers Inc. (BTI) Classic – a three-day, weekend-long round-robin tournament between Baylor, Utah State, Stetson University and Texas Pan-American.

The No. 8 Lady Bears tracked their steps back from last season against Kentucky on Monday night – an early season loss to a top-25 ranked Kentucky team, exposing issues as well as potential in head coach Kim Mulkey’s team.

The 2014-15 season began with a 101-60 victory for the No. 8 Lady Bears Friday night at the Ferrell Center over the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles. After a strong showing in the team’s second exhibition game last week, sophomore forward Nina Davis continued her good form, leading the Lady Bears with 22 points and 10 rebounds Friday night.

Sophomore forward Nina Davis, freshman guard Kristy Wallace shined and junior post Kristina Higgins shined in the No. 8 Lady Bears’ exhibition game versus Tarleton State on Monday night at the Ferrell Center. It was the second of two exhibition games ahead of the Lady Bears’ 2014-15 regular season. The Lady Bears defeated the TexAnns 102-41.

In the dawn of a new era for Baylor women’s basketball, the No. 8 Lady Bears downed Midwestern State University 99-56 in an exhibition game at the Ferrell Center Tuesday night. For many newcomers to the team, the game was a chance to get valuable playing time before the regular season. For head coach Kim Mulkey, it was an opportunity to test her players in different spots on the floor.
