After a last second overtime loss to No. 22 Oklahoma State on Wednesday night, the Baylor Bears have now lost three consecutive games. This marks the longest losing streak of the season.

The Bears have an opportunity to get back on track against Texas Tech at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Ferrell Center.

The Baylor Bears lost in an overtime duel to the No. 22 Oklahoma State Cowboys 69-67 in stunning fashion.

After a surprise upset win over No. 2 Kansas on Saturday, the Cowboys initially came out lethargic and fell behind to Baylor by six points early in the first half, 9-3.

The Houston Rockets tied an NBA record and set a franchise mark with 23 3-pointers in a 140-109 win over Golden State on Tuesday night.

Jeremy Lin sank five 3-pointers, a career high, and Chandler Parsons and James Harden hit four apiece as the Rockets reached a season-high point total. They also tied an NBA record with 14 3-pointers in the first half and dished out a season-high 35 assists on 46 field goals overall.

The Baylor Bears travel to Oklahoma State tonight to face the No. 22 Oklahoma State Cowboys at 6 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena. This Big 12 conference showdown will be nationally televised on ESPN.

The Bears are currently on a two-game losing streak, which is their longest losing streak of the season.

The Baylor Bears fell to the Iowa State Cyclones 79-71 Saturday night in Ames, Iowa. With the loss, Baylor falls to 5-3 in the Big 12 and now has a two-game losing streak. Iowa State has won its eleventh straight conference game at home in James H. Hilton Coliseum.

The Baylor Bears will travel to Ames, Iowa on Saturday to take on an Iowa State team that is undefeated at home in Big 12 Conference play.

The Bears were off to an exceptional start in big 12 play but faltered against Oklahoma to lose their first Big 12 home game. Baylor looks to regain momentum by giving Iowa State its first loss at James H. Hilton Coliseum.

The Baylor Bears fell to the Oklahoma Sooners 74-71 in a thrilling Big 12 Conference game on Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center.

The Bears came out in the first half and played lethargic basketball. They only managed 26 first-half points. Oklahoma, on the other hand, shot 53 percent from the field in the first half and surmounted a convincing 12-point lead going into the half, 38-26. The Bears only held the lead one time in the contest and that was early in the game with a 4-2 advantage.

The Baylor Bears will have a showdown tonight against the Oklahoma Sooners at 6 p.m. in the Ferrell Center.

The two teams are opposites in many ways. The Sooners boast frontline experience and talent but lack depth in the backcourt.

While the Bears are experienced in the backcourt with senior guards Pierre Jackson and A.J. Walton, they lack experience in the frontcourt with freshman center Isaiah Austin.

The Baylor Bears defeated the TCU Horned Frogs 82-56 on Saturday in Fort Worth. The Bears improved to 5-1 in Big 12 Conference play while TCU remained winless in conference with a 0-7 record.

Baylor and TCU are two basketball teams heading in two separate directions. TCU is winless in conference play and Baylor is 4-1 and coming off a victory against Oklahoma State on ESPN’s Big Monday showcase.

In 2008, the NBA’s SuperSonics were stolen from the city of Seattle and then made their way to Oklahoma City, where they were renamed the Thunder. The wheels are now in motion to make the current Sacramento Kings the new Seattle SuperSonics.

The Baylor Bears defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Monday, 64-54. The game featured breakout performances from freshman center Isaiah Austin and junior forward Cory Jefferson: both Austin and Jefferson posted double-doubles on the stat sheet. “We just wanted to be aggressive,” Austin said. “We wanted to control the paint and that’s what we did.”

Senior guard Pierre Jackson led the way for the No. 16 Baylor men’s basketball team as the Bears earned their first victory in the Charleston Classic after defeating Boston College 84-74 Thursday afternoon Jackson led all scorers with 31 points.

Including Jackson, four players reached double figures in points. Freshman center Isaiah Austin was among them, adding 16 points and nine rebounds on 7-12 shooting.

The No. 16 Baylor men’s basketball team will face the undefeated Boston College Eagles at 2 p.m. today in its first round game at the Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C.

Seniors Brady Heslip started his career as a member of the Boston College basketball team before transferring to Baylor. Heslip did not play in any games, however.

Heslip started this season shooting just 20 percent from the three-point arc. While his shooting numbers may be down, teams still have to put a defender in his face because he is such an established threat. This stretches the floor and allows guards to penetrate.

When people think of Oregon football, they think about awesome uniforms. But Oregon’s uniforms do more than just look cool. High school football recruits want to play at Oregon because they know they will be wearing the nicest gear that Nike has to offer.

Last year, Adidas unveiled their “adizero” uniforms for three schools: Baylor University, the University of Louisville and the University of Cincinnati.

The No. 18 Baylor men’s basketball team is set to head to South Carolina to play in the Charleston Classic Thursday-Sunday.

The Bears have won their first two games against Lehigh and Jackson State in pretty convincing fashion.

Lehigh was Baylor’s first victim that fell 99-77. There is a lot of buzz surrounding Lehigh’s team this season.

The No. 18 Baylor men’s basketball team earned its first victory of the season after a highlight-ridden performance against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 99-77. Junior forward Cory Jefferson led the way for the Bears with 26 points, 18 of which were from dunks, and 13 rebounds.

The word “defense” has become taboo around Waco because of the Bears’ football woes. But the football teams’s defense isn’t the only squad under the microscope. The No. 18 Baylor basketball team is undergoing some fundamental changes on the defensive side of the floor.

Baylor fell to the eventual National Champion, Kentucky, last year in the Elite Eight 82-70. A big reason for Kentucky’s success was its 6-foot-10-inch freshman Anthony Davis.

Davis torched the Bears that game for 18 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks. Baylor had no answer for the Associated Press Player of the Year and eventual first overall pick in the NBA Draft.

So what did Baylor head coach Scott Drew do about it? He went to Arlington and got an Anthony Davis of his own, minus the unibrow. This one goes by the name of Isaiah Austin.

Elite Eight rings are set aside, Adidas shoes are laced up and neon is put on as the No. 18 Baylor men’s basketball team takes the floor at the Ferrell tonight against Abilene Christian in its only exhibition game before the start of the 2012-2013 season.

Moonlight Madness was a success last Friday night. The campus will soon be buzzing with basketball on the horizon, and the teams will look to hang banners in April.

Fans flooded the Ferrell Center for a taste of what they will get when the season starts next month.

“There was a lot of energy, man,” freshman forward Rico Gathers said. “I didn’t expect it to be this live…I can’t wait until the season starts.”

Losing in the Elite Eight in two of the past three seasons has left this Baylor men’s basketball team hungry.

The players believe that the program is at a level now where making the NCAA tournament is a given, and tournament runs are expected.

In 2010, the Bears lost to eventual national champion Duke.

Quincy Acy will have a lot to prove north of the border.
Standing 6-feet 7-inches, he is already an undersized power forward and has some good ball players to beat out for a roster spot.
In the Las Vegas Summer League, Acy played just two games and averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds.
