Baylor University administrators announced the largest capital gift in university history today as the lead-off donation toward a new on-campus Baylor football stadium planned for the banks of the Brazos River. Read the official announcement.
On Monday, Jan. 10, Baylor University will hold a gathering for the friends of Mallory Norrell, a senior photography major from Canton, Texas, who died in a car accident on Dec. 17. The gathering will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Spiritual Life Center Chapel, which is located on the corner of Fifth and Speight, and will be a time to offer comfort and support to those who knew Mallory, as well as to pray for those most deeply affected by her death. The Huskies’ NCAA-record 90-game winning streak ended Thursday night with a loss to Stanford. Their nearly three-year hold on the top ranking ended Monday when they were overtaken by Baylor and dropped to No. 2 in The Associated Press poll. Connecticut had been the top team for a record 51 straight weeks, beginning Feb. 18, 2008.
