No. 9 Baylor softball is off to a hot start in the 2015 season, and things didn’t cool down for the Bears as they took four straight wins at the Northwestern State University Demon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

Baylor (9-0) is off to its best start since 2011 with its relatively young team under head coach Glenn Moore. The Bears exhibited their dominance over both Jackson State and Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La.

Sophomore pitcher Brooke Seneshen led the Bears on the mound in their final outing with Northwestern State on Sunday, posting a 9-2 win against the home team. The only two runs allowed by Baylor all weekend came in the sixth inning as NSU’s Kellye Kincannon scored and Natalie Landry stole home.

Freshman infielder Shelby Friudenberg slammed a home run at the top of the sixth to bring in three runners, putting the game out of reach for the Lady Demons. Prior to the 9-2 contest, the Bears had 38 consecutive scoreless innings dating back to Feb. 7 in the Getterman Classic.

Coach Moore and his squad suit up for the Baylor Invitational this weekend as it hosts a big top 10 matchup against No. 2 Oregon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday night. The blackout game will offer free t-shirts to the first 750 fans at Getterman Stadium.
