It’s only the first half, but No. 22 Baylor football is surprising the nation with a score of 17-10 over No. 5 Oklahoma.

Junior quarterback Robert Griffin III is giving his Oklahoma counterpart, Landry Jones, a run for his money, completing eight of 13 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown.

Baylor looked to have an early lead when Griffin found senior receiver Kendall Wright on an 80-yard pass for a touchdown on the first play, but it was called back due to a holding penalty.

Wright would find his yards anyway, when in the second quarter, he caught a short slant and took off for a 55-yard gain. The play would set up a 15-yard touchdown run by senior running back Terrance Ganaway, giving Baylor the first touchdown of the game and making it 10-3 with 7:08 left in the half.

It was the Bears’ 15th scoring drive of less than 60 seconds on the year. Their 16th came on their next drive, when Griffin found sophomore receiver Tevin Reese wide open down the field for a 69-yard touchdown pass, bringing the score to 17-10.

Baylor stopped a potential scoring drive for the Sooners when sophomore cornerback Joe Williams forced a Trey Franks fumble that was recovered by sophomore nickelback Ahmad Dixon.

Oklahoma has outgained Baylor 249 yards to 237, but the Bears have made theirs count.
