Assistant coach and special teams coordinator Dino Babers has been named one of four finalists for the vacant head coaching position at Eastern Illinois University.
EIU associate athletic director Rich Moser said the job was opened in late October and the selection committee has narrowed the list down from 90 candidates who applied.
Baber’s competition currently is Jeff Choate, special teams coordinator at Boise State University; Mark Hutson, interim head coach at Tulane University; and Randall McCray, assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
