No. 1 Equestrian added to Baylor’s success across all sports over the weekend with narrow 11-9 victory over conference rival No. 2 TCU on Saturday at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown.

The Bears (11-0, 4-0) are riding an 11-meet winning streak that goes as far back as October 2014. Baylor is two wins away from sweeping Big 12 competition to claim the conference regular season title.

The Horned Frogs jumped out to a 4-1 advantage after reining, but Baylor struck back with a 4-1 score in equitation over fences to tie it at 5-5 with 10 points remaining in the meet.

The Bears were next to claim the lead with a 3-2 score on equitation on the flat, making it 8-7 overall. TCU tied the score at 9-9 in horsemanship, but the Bears claimed the final two points to secure the win.

As part of its five-game road stretch, Baylor heads to Stillwater, Okla., on Friday to face No. 9 Oklahoma State. A win against the Cowgirls would guarantee at least a share of the regular season Big 12 title for the Bears.
