Tigers lead, 14-13 after Bears’ red-zone fumble, missed field goal

Baylor must be having flashbacks to last week’s game against Oklahoma State, as once again missed opportunities and poor red zone play are costing the Bears a potential lead. The score is not nearly as bad, however, but Missouri still leads 14-13.
Missouri running back Henry Josey introduced himself immediately to the Baylor homecoming crowd and the defense with a 35-yard run on the Tigers’ first play from scrimmage.
The Bears’ defense would stop the Tigers that drive, but on the next series, Missouri drove 62 yards on 10 plays to score on a Josey 6-yard touchdown.
Baylor responded with a drive featuring an athletic play by junior quarterback Robert Griffin III, who faked a pitch to get past one defender before hurdling another. Griffin would, unfortunately, end that same drive with a fumble into the end zone for Missouri touchback.
Baylor got on the board early in the second quarter with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Griffin to junior receiver Terrance Williams.
Sophomore kicker Aaron Jones’s slump continues as he missed a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter. Missouri scored in 8 plays on their next drive with a 2-yard touchdown run by Josey.
Baylor drove 80 yards with 3:38 left to score just before the half. Griffin’s legs did most of the work with two first down rushes and quarterback sneak for the touchdown.
The Tiger rushing game has dashed the Baylor defense for 184 yards at the half.
Griffin has 167 passing yards and one touchdown, along with a team-leading 70 rushing yards and another rushing touchdown.
Williams leads all receivers with six catches for 72 yards and a touchdown.
