After a tough fight at the Texas Tennis Center, Baylor women’s tennis fell to No. 12 Texas 4-3 in the second round of ITA Kickoff Weekend.
The fifth-year big man became the 13th player in NCAA history with 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds.
Baylor women’s tennis breezed past BYU Friday at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Austin, 4-1, to advance to the championship round against No. 12 Texas.
“I think it’s definitely a lesson learned. We maybe didn’t do so well for this game, so we just took it to the next game and went here and out,” Littlepage-Buggs said. “We do have these next couple games coming up, and we are probably going to get really detailed about what things we could’ve done better and how to, because they have somebody tall, move with them and move the ball and where we could score at.”
With a winning pedigree against SMU, an improved doubles team, and strong bonds between teammates, Baylor men’s tennis will look to return to its winning ways at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas.
VJ Edgecombe scored a career-high 30 points, becoming the first Baylor men’s basketball freshman to do so since Keyonte George scored 32 against West Virginia on Jan. 11, 2023, as the Bears rallied back from a 12 point deficit to take down Kansas State, 70-62, Wednesday night at Foster Pavilion.
Following months of restless nights thinking about how an additional 10 feet of distance on a warning track shot could have changed history, head coach Glenn Moore’s Bears kicked off spring practices on Jan. 15 hungry. A midseason hiccup in 2024 helped the team come together and rally to succeed, and those memories still roll through Moore’s mind as he gazes at a new look squad in chilly January weather.
The Bears blew a seven-point halftime lead against unranked TCU Sunday and has lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.
