With a Tuesday night win over UT Arlington, the Bears (23-13, 6-9 Big 12) officially exceeded the win totals from the previous two seasons under Thomson (20 and 22, respectively). But after exploding for 18 runs on Saturday against Texas Tech, more than the team had scored in its previous six games combined, a 5-0 lead vanished on Sunday and the green and gold dropped their fourth Big 12 series.

Two games through a three-game stretch against ranked opponents, No. 13 Baylor men’s basketball extended its winning streak to three, knocking off No. 23 Texas Tech 79-73 on Tuesday night at Foster Pavilion.

No. 2 seeded Baylor women’s basketball let loose in the second half to beat No. 15 seeded University of Hawaii at Manoa 89-49 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.
NaLyssa Smith, widely considered the No. 1 pick in the upcoming WNBA draft, has done everything imaginable at Baylor, from winning championships to breaking records. While the 6-foot-4-inch forward from Converse is excited for the future, Smith’s focus is on having fun and enjoying the moment as well as what she’s been able to do as a Bear.
With three new transfer guards, James Akinjo, Jordan Lewis and Ja’Mee Asberry, have stepped up to help Baylor further excel their basketball program.
