Men's Basketball

Equestrian
On Sunday, February 2, Katherine Berg placed second in The Sun Circuit Shootout in Scottsdale, Ariz.
“I made a rookie mistake that ultimately cost me the win,” Berg said, “I was miserable and disappointed that I let my team down but more so because I didn’t even put up a fight.”
Baylor is ranked No. 1 in the latest NCEA Rankings after jumping up three spots in Monday’s NCEA Rankings.
The Bears are 5-1 on the season and their last event was a 12-8 win over Oklahoma State on Oct. 26. The three teams ranked ahead of Baylor all lost since the last NCEA poll was released on Oct. 25. As a result, the Bears jumped to the No. 1 spot in the rankings.
No. 4 Baylor equestrian earned a 12-8 victory over the No. 7 Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The Bears earned a 4-1 victory in flat, while OSU won 4-1 in horsemanship to tie both teams at 5. Baylor sealed the win by finishing with a 4-1 advantage in fences to win the Big 12 competition.
Golf
The Baylor men’s golf capped off the regular season with a fourth place finish, ahead of Big 12 foes Texas and Oklahoma, at the Aggie Invitational on Sunday in Bryan. The No. 46 ranked Bears finished at 41-over-par (376-377-368=1121) for their sixth top-five finish this season.
For the first time since the 2008-2009 season, the Baylor men’s golf team has won multiple tournaments in the same season. The first victory came last month in Charleston, S.C., and the most recent was Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The Bears finished at 4-under-par 282-273-281=836, beating out second-place Arizona by three strokes in the 20-team field. The second round score of 273 was a season low.
Both the men’s and women’s golf teams are in the middle of their seasons, each in different situations but both working toward a postseason appearance.

In the 2023 season, Major League Baseball officials added the pitch clock to aid the speed of the game. After the season and now into 2024, I’ve seen that the pitch clock has been very useful and has accelerated the pace of the game.
