In a match eerily reminiscent of Wednesday’s victory over Arizona, the No. 19 Bears took down the No. 14 Sun Devils 25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17. Five different Baylor players had eight or more kills, and the rowdy Ferrell Center crowd spooked Arizona State (12-2, 1-1) into committing 25 errors, with the help of a fan gold-out and a healthy swarm of interfering crickets.

The No. 2 Baylor equestrian team came out of the Fresno State Invitational with a loss to 1-1 advancing its record to 8-3. The Bears had a close match Friday against Fresno State, but ended with a score of 8-7. On Saturday, the Bears came back with a vengeance to beat SMU 13-3 in Fresno, Calif.

Baylor fans have plenty to follow this weekend as several teams are in action: men’s tennis will be home Friday, Saturday and Sunday for their season opener in the HEB Invitational, women’s cross country competes Friday at the Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster meet in Toledo, Ohio, and on Sunday and Monday, women’s golf will be at the Dick Maguire Invitational tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.
