Baylor women’s basketball sealed third place in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, scoring 40 points in the paint and shooting 58.7% from the floor to knockout Villanova, 73-62, Monday afternoon at Atlantis’ Imperial Arena in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
No. 18 Baylor women’s basketball’s trip to paradise took a sour turn Sunday afternoon as the Bears allowed a 17-point Indiana run in the first quarter that was too much to overcome, eventually falling to the Hoosiers, 73-65, in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinal at Atlantis’ Imperial Arena in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
No. 17 Baylor volleyball survived Houston’s upset attempt Saturday in the Ferrell Center, taking down the Cougars 25-19, 18-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-10. On Senior Day in Waco, outside hitter Elise McGhee celebrated the occasion with a 22-kill double-double.
Despite turning the ball over three times, Baylor football held Houston without an offensive touchdown for the second consecutive week. The Bears extended their winning streak to five, tying their longest streak since 2021 with a 20-10 win Saturday night at TDECU Stadium in Houston.

The former head coach of the then-Lady Bears decided to display her accomplishments with her new program in the place she used to call home for over two decades.
The 2022-23 Baylor women’s basketball season has officially come to a close, and while the final result for head coach Nicki Collen and the Bears wasn’t perfect, there is lots of potential for the 2023-24 season.

“Ultimately, I don’t know what the identity of the team is right now,” Scrivano said. “We’re going to find out. You don’t know until you get in the heat of the battle and you go through some adversity. I am confident that these kids will respond really well this year.”
“We’re really going to build on the great success and tradition that we’ve had here over the last 20 years-plus, and especially over the last couple years with this group and the culture that we’ve established,” Woodson said.
Baylor women’s tennis will host the Baylor Invite from Friday to Sunday and welcomes the University of Houston, Texas Christian University and Washington State.
