A Seeding 18 Years in the Making

Baylor is one of the few teams that can match Gonzaga’s depth, but unless a COVID-19 scare or injuries plague the No. 1 team in the country, I think Gonzaga finishes the season undefeated with an overtime win.

Baylor has a long, storied history of dominant post players who have all made their mark on Baylor history in their time in Waco. NaLyssa Smith has been no different.

COVID-19 effected both the Baylor men’s and women’s basketball programs in ways that were unimaginable a year ago. But through a global pandemic, both teams persevered in conditions that are once in a lifetime, showing heart, grit and determination.

“She’s a joy to coach,” Mulkey said. “Good things happen to kids who do things the right way.”

Baylor women’s basketball will enter the NCAA Tournament as a two-seed, heading into the postseason bubble to face Jackson State in round one.

Lefty reliever Ryan Leckich is a spark on the pitching staff, playing every game like it’s his last.

Some of the seeding choices were odd, but that’s to be expected when you haven’t selected a bracket in two years. Regardless of where they are seeded, it’s sure each team is just happy to see March Madness back.
