The Baylor Lady Bears’ phenomenal basketball season came to an end after losing to the No. 1 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish 68-88 in South Bend, Ind. Monday night. Seniors Odyssey Sims, Makenzie Robertson and Mariah Chandler finish their college careers on a loss, but their last season saw unprecedented success with a shockingly young squad behind them.
The Lady Bears advance to the quarterfinal after defeating the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats 90-72 Saturday in Notre Dame, Ind. Baylor will play No. 1 seed Notre Dame in the Elite Eight.
Monday night’s game against California saw a subtle but significant message sent out by the Lady Bears’ freshmen. It was a frantic first half that had lead changes swinging like a pendulum between Baylor and Cal.
