Men's Basketball
After a five point win over Texas Tech on Tuesday night, the Bears (19-7, 7-6 Big 12) host unranked Kansas State on Saturday afternoon in one of their final games at the Ferrell Center.
No. 20 Baylor men’s basketball looked to make a statement after dropping two straight conference matchups last week, but the Bears had to overcome offensive struggles from the field on Tuesday night to take a narrow 54-49 win over Texas Tech in Lubbock.
Junior forward Rico Gathers had a dominant offensive performance with 18 points and eight rebounds, but No. 16 Baylor faltered down the stretch and fell to No. 8 Kansas 74-64 at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.
Women's Basketball
The Lady Bears won in a rout 89-51 against Iowa State Wednesday at the Ferrell Center. The Cyclones came out strong, but failed to keep up with Baylor’s speed and efficiency throughout the night.
The No. 7 Lady Bears beat the Texas Longhorns 72-58 in another huge Big 12 road win on Sunday at Frank Erwin Special Events Center in Austin. Baylor (22-3, 12-1) climbs even higher atop the Big 12 standing with the win over Texas (17-8, 8-5) on Sunday, all but solidifying first place in the Big 12 regular season.
