“I used to play baseball [because] I love it,” Will said. “I still love it, but it’s almost to the point now where I don’t want to hang it up because so many people have invested so much time, energy and effort into getting me back on the field. I kind of feel like if I didn’t go out and keep playing, I’d let them down. That’s my big reason why I play, to make everybody’s time and effort worth it.”

Baylor men’s tennis appears to be back in a groove. Coming off two sweeps last weekend, the Bears traveled to Tulsa, Okla., and kept the hot streak going by defeating Oral Roberts University, 4-0, and the University of Tulsa, 4-2, in a doubleheader on Wednesday.

While Baylor baseball’s pitching arms kept the Bears in the game, struggles at the plate and leaving 14 runners on base plagued the green and gold, as it fell 5-2 in 11 innings to Abilene Christian University on Tuesday night at Baylor Ballpark.

The Bears followed a rough weekend in Stillwater, Okla., with an 8-0 drubbing of the Roadrunners on Tuesday at Getterman Stadium.

The Bears lost a lot of ammunition on the defensive line over the off-season, so assistant coach and D-line coach Dennis Johnson is relying on two specific guys to step up.

The Bears worked out 19 athletes in their annual Pro Day on Monday at Midway’s Activity Center in Hewitt, with 17 of them coming from head coach Dave Aranda’s 2022 squad.

Three different Baylor squads were competing in Stillwater, Okla., over the weekend, and they went a combined 1-7.
