“My dad always impressed me, the older he got, the more it was about his student-athletes and what kind of men, fathers and husbands they are,” Drew said. “When past players come in, to hear about their success and how they’re doing, personally I care most about that.”
“Part of that’s [being] a young team, part of that’s [being] a new team,” Posey said. “But we’re really coming together, getting to know one another, trusting the coaches, and trusting each other. We’re really starting to believe that we can go out there, compete and be successful.”
The Bears wrapped up their first of four games in four days, besting the Abilene Christian University Wildcats, 15-6, Thursday afternoon at Poly Wells Field in Abilene.
“My goal was just to have fun, no pressure at all, and that’s what I went out and did,” Callaway said. “It was a good last ride. I’m so glad that I was able to experience my five years at Baylor.”
As the Baylor football season turns over and new faces hope to shine, fifth-year senior offensive lineman Clark Barrington stepped into his position room as the oldest and most experienced athlete.

The 15th-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team swept the Oklahoma State Cowboys 7-0 Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco. The Bears extended their win streak to seven matches and are now 3-0 in conference play.
The No. 15 Baylor men’s tennis team will continue conference play against the No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners at 6 p.m. today at the Hurd Tennis Center. The Bears (15-4) are 1-0 in conference play this season and are coming off of a 6-1 win at Texas Tech last week and a five-match win streak.
The Baylor Women’s tennis team came up short on Wednesday night against 4th-ranked Texas A&M at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. The Lady Bears took an early lead after winning the doubles point, but were unable to keep the Aggies from taking control of the match in singles play and securing the 4-2 overall victory.
“We definitely competed harder in that particular match than we have lately, but ultimately we still fell short,” head coach Joey Scrivano said.
