The fourth-seeded Bears (27-7, 15-3 Big 12) will open the 2025 NCAA Tournament at 2:30 p.m. Friday against No. 13 seed Grand Canyon (32-2, 16-0 WAC) at Foster Pavilion.
The Bears jumped up a seed line after a strong finish to the season. They’ll take on Chris Jans’ Bulldogs (21-12, 8-10) Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Judge Thomas West of Texas’ 19th State District Court declined the plea agreement between the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office and Shadle, who had pleaded guilty in December to two reduced charges of attempted sexual assault with a recommendation for deferred probation. This agreement would have reduced Shadle’s sex offender registration requirement to 10 years instead of a lifetime.

The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce hosted an economic forum Thursday centered on real estate development and how infrastructural developments along Interstate 35-South, as well as the general performance of the economy, affects jobs and boosts the real estate market.
After four years of college, recently graduated students have some new things: a degree, an appreciation of hard work and a large collection of T-shirts.
In keeping with its mission of providing a bridge between Baylor and the local community, the Baylor/Waco Foundation has begun fundraising for an endowed scholarship to be awarded to a McLennan County high school graduate beginning in the fall of 2012.
President Ken Starr will be speaking on service within the community at Caritas of Waco’s largest annual fundraiser, Feast of Caring, on Thursday.

“Since July 1st, Baylor’s campus has had nine positives out of 48 tests,” Stern said. “And in the last month alone, we have had seven positives out of 29 tests, which is almost a 25% positivity rate.”
