The Student Senate did not pass the Student Senate Restructuring bill during the Senate meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23. The vote was 34 in favor and 14 against, but 36 votes in favor were needed to reach a three-fourths majority for the bill to pass.
Baylor students battled both COVID-19 and Winter Storm Uri last week.
Taking on a new form than in previous years, Baylor Spiritual Life is providing online midday prayer sessions on Fridays throughout the season of Lent to be supportive of students.
Last week, Winter Storm Uri brought freezing temperatures that left many Waco residents without power or water. Throughout the perils of the storm, residents turned to each other for help. Many continue to rely on community support in the aftermath of the storm.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election. The results also kicked off the 2026 midterm cycle.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait. The White House said the campaign is aimed at dismantling Iran’s military and toppling its government.
