The idea first came from a partnership called the Big 12 Food Pantry Alliance, which seeks to fight food insecurity among the colleges in the Big 12 Conference. Texas Tech mostly accepted monetary donations, and Baylor’s food pantry received major support from students.
“I think that that’s really the idea is the hope is that this attention on the FAFSA field makes the FAFSA feel more like a partner and achieving your degree instead of a roadblock and achieving your degree, and that’s really what we’re trying to do,” Anderson said.

Former Baylor and McLennan Community College lecturer Roger Wayne Rouland, 52, pleaded guilty on Thursday to possession of child pornography.
Tonight at 8 p.m., KWBU-FM will broadcast the last pre-recorded public forum on the potential school closings in the Waco Independent School District. Forums were held Jan. 5-12 to garner community feedback on the potential closures, which are because of an anticipated $3.4 million loss in state revenue. The school district is looking to combat the budget shortfall and save money by closing down schools that are under-capacity, according to wacoisd.org.

Ramsey is a sophomore from Waco studying economics and international studies in Arabic. Ramsey went to Amman, Jordan, with Qasid, an Arabic Institute Program running from June through August. But she didn’t suspect the challenges and conflicts that would occur in the coming days.
