Baylor’s summer REC camp serves Baylor faculty and staff by offering a day camp for children aged 6 to 12, all while providing a summer job for Baylor students.
Baylor’s American Chemical Society Affiliates is set to welcome families to Sic ‘Em Science Day from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Usually hosted by the Mayborn Museum Complex in the fall, ACS will host the spring session independently, including a variety of hands-on experiments and its traditional Chemistry Magic Show.

It’s time for families with special needs children to band together once again.
The Children’s Special Needs Network, a nonprofit organization located in Belton, is hosting its 20th Annual InKidable Conference from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Several people expressed their opinions about the transfer of the animal shelter from the Humane Society to the city of Waco at the Waco City Council meeting Tuesday.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait. Waco drivers are already feeling it. The local average hit $3.38 a gallon last week, up 21 cents in seven days and 75 cents year-over-year, according to AAA data.
Gas prices in Texas have surged more than 70 cents per gallon since the U.S. went to war with Iran three weeks ago.
