Baylor and Waco Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 8:10 a.m. today at the La Mirage Apartments, 909 Baylor Ave. The suspect in the robbery was last seen on Baylor Avenue headed west toward 10th Street. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’ 8”, in his mid-20s with a goatee beard/mustache and was seen wearing a black/gray jacket and blue jeans.
Damaged equipment and a lack of space often cause problems for active students in the McLane Student Life Center.
A new mass spectrometry lab will soon be under construction in the Baylor Sciences Building and should be completed sometime during the spring of 2012.

Tensions continued to grow over the summer between political adversaries as Texas state Sen. James Talarico called on Attorney General Ken Paxton to release internal records related to a controversial child sexual abuse case involving former Waco attorney and Baylor Law graduate Adam Hoffman.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait. Waco drivers are already feeling it. The local average hit $3.38 a gallon last week, up 21 cents in seven days and 75 cents year-over-year, according to AAA data.
