SNAP, food stamps and EBT each run under a different name but the goal is ultimately the same –– to support lower-income families with their grocery shopping. As of 2023, around 42.1 million or 12.6% of the U.S. population rely on SNAP for grocery shopping.
On Feb. 19, the Texas Senate passed Senate Bill 9, which eliminates cashless and low-cost bail options for certain defendants, including those charged with murder, aggravated assault and fentanyl-related homicide, according to Texas Border Business.
“All week we are offering a space for students to surrender their scales if the scale causes them any undue burden or stress,” Mastin said.

The Iran war is now in its 46th day. Iran responded by restricting access to Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world’s seaborne oil, and moving to toll vessels transiting the strait.
