Baylor’s schedule of classes offers more than the standard courses required for a degree. Tucked among core requirements and major-specific classes are courses that explore topics ranging from anarchism in American history to podcast writing and the relationship between religion and sports.
The BARC helps students build practical skills for recovery and well-being through the ReCenter program, held each Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Teal Residential College. Students in the ReCenter program listen to their peers’ stories, participate in guided activities planned by trained staff and engage in supportive conversations.
After nearly two decades, Baylor’s Freshman League is returning this fall, giving first-year students a new way to participate in intramurals and make friends, stay active and build community outside the classroom.
When most Baylor students eat Chick-fil-A on campus, they’re served by staff in the Bill Daniel Student Center. For the lucky ones who attend the business school’s “Nugget Pop-Ups,” that server becomes Dean David Szymanski. But yesterday, Szymanski took it up a notch by inviting Chick-fil-A Chairman Dan Truett Cathy to campus, where the chicken restaurant’s lead man took on a job well below his qualifications: handing out nuggets to hungry business students with a smile and a “my pleasure” each time.
