Baylor University voluntarily rescinded a controversial grant that supported research focused on inclusion and belonging in the church, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ individuals, President Linda Livingstone announced in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
Baylor’s campus was put on lockdown at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday due to a shelter-in-place alert after a threat on campus. Most students were notified about the lockdown, but multiple students mentioned not receiving the message, and Line Camp attendees did not have their phones.

Texas voters turned out in historic numbers Tuesday, delivering victories for State Rep. James Talarico and forcing a runoff between Attorney General Ken Paxton and incumbent Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s U.S. Senate contest that claimed national attention. The total early-voting turnout of more than 2.5 million marks the highest ever for a midterm primary election.
