The Waco Police Department confirmed a fatal shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of Dallas Street. No suspect has been arrested at this time.
According to a press release from Waco PD, police were called to the location at 2:11 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a deceased 62-year-old man with gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Darrell Demon Conway Thursday.
Waco PD is asking the public for help in finding a suspect, asking for anyone with knowledge of the incident to submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-4357. A tip that leads to the arrest of an individual could result in a $2,000 reward.
Dallas Street is located approximately 10 minutes away from Baylor’s campus, between East Waco Drive and Herring Avenue.
Waco PD confirmed this is the fifth homicide investigation of 2026. No further information is available at this time.
