One time I had a dream that coffee and ice cream would one day walk hand in hand. One day I woke up, read the Baylor Lariat and slapped a cow sideways while yelling yeehaw when I saw it was coming into reality.
NBC suspended “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams Tuesday evening for lying to the American public.
At least, that’s a short and sweet version of what’s going on at NBC.
It’s a classic job interview cop-out. When asked, “What’s your biggest weakness?” simply answer, “Oh, I’m too much of a perfectionist.” Why? Because the word perfectionist kindles positive thoughts of how hard-working and detail-oriented a person is.
I started my college career out as a University Scholar, which meant I had a great deal of latitude when it came to selecting classes. Since base requirements were not an issue, I decided to focus on classes that would either be more necessary or enjoyable.
However — and this is a big however — the order was issued in regard to one particular case, a case with which the Lariat was not and still is not involved. According to the Student Body Constitution, the court’s jurisdiction extends to conflicts arising between students v. organizations, students v. students and organizations v. organizations. There was no dispute between the Lariat, the justices or the parties involved in McCahill, Hardy v. Kinghorn at the time the order was issued.
As one of the leading Christian universities internationally, serving others is constantly at the forefront of our agenda. From installing water wells on the eastern coasts of Africa to teaching languages in the uttermost parts of South America, mission work is a constant goal we strive for.
Although Baylor has dipped its toe into many wonderful outlets that promote environmental sustainability, such as recycling bins for plastic and paper, there has become a lack of trash receptacles on campus.
The Lariat got served a gag order Thursday. Upon seeing it, I was at a complete loss for words.
