Students deserve to know if they are at risk walking at certain hours of the day, whether at 12:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. Everyone should be well-informed and prepared in case of an emergency.
The cost of textbooks should be included in the university’s tuition. Instead of making students feel as though they are paying an outside cost, they can use financial aid and scholarship money toward the costs of textbooks.
A mere three or four semesters of a language course is not enough time to attain proficiency or fluency in any language. At the very least, the language requirement for the College of Arts and Sciences should be lowered to two semesters, in order to be consistent with the other colleges that require a foreign language.
