March Madness 2025
Baylor men’s basketball kicked off its 2011-12 season with Moonlight Madness Friday at the Ferrell Center, as part of ESPN’s Midnight Madness.
Baylor hasn’t seen anything like the Moonlight Madness event happening at the Ferrell Center this Friday since 2003. It should be fun for spectators and athletes alike, and it will give the university more national television exposure.
Baylor men’s basketball found a way to beat the Central Texas heat. They’re leaving for a while.
Instead of rebuilding, the Bears are reloading for 2011-2012.
Like his fellow classmates, nobody is forcing freshman forward Perry Jones III to return to Baylor for another semester. But chances are good he’s the only student at the university turning down millions of dollars to do so.
Sophomore Brittney Griner scored 21 points, sophomore Destiny Williams added 18 and Baylor cruised to an 86-53 win over Kansas State in the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals today in Kansas City.
The Lady Bears had no problem beating Kansas for the second time this season, physically dominating the Jayhawks in an 86-51 rout. Destiny Williams scored 21 points to lead Mulkey’s team, who advanced to the Big 12 tournament semifinals with the win.
The Lady Bears, Big 12 conference champions, are headed to Boulder, Colo., to take on the Buffaloes in their last conference game at 3 p.m. Saturday, before heading to the Big 12 Tournament.
The Lady Bears walked onto the court Wednesday night wearing No. 5 T-shirts in warmups; they walked off with shirts that read, “Big 12 Champions.” Even without senior Melissa Jones on the court, her presence in the Ferrell Center was all Baylor needed as it went on to soundly defeat Missouri, 84-52.
The point guards duked it out to the final buzzer as No. 3 Baylor’s Odyssey Sims notched 37 points to get the better of senior Danielle Robinson and No. 16/15 Oklahoma 82-81 Sunday afternoon in Norman.
