With only four games left before the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City, it is safe to say that the Lady Bears’ unorthodox schedule has played into the strengths and weaknesses of Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey’s young team.

Mulkey said she did not have a complete idea of how her team would be able do this season, nor did she have set opinion on the way she felt about the schedule worked out.

The Lady Bears won in a rout 89-51 against Iowa State Wednesday at the Ferrell Center. The Cyclones came out strong, but failed to keep up with Baylor’s speed and efficiency throughout the night.

The No. 7 Lady Bears beat the Texas Longhorns 72-58 in another huge Big 12 road win on Sunday at Frank Erwin Special Events Center in Austin. Baylor (22-3, 12-1) climbs even higher atop the Big 12 standing with the win over Texas (17-8, 8-5) on Sunday, all but solidifying first place in the Big 12 regular season.

Some fans call her ‘Z’ from the stands. Teachers know her as an honor roll student. Opposing teams know her as a lethal three-point specialist. Teammates know her as a strong, quiet leader by example.

After an impressive night against Oklahoma State on Sunday, Mulkey said she likes the way the No. 7 Lady Bears (20-3, 10-1) rose in terms of confidence not just from her star players, but from her team as a whole in their past few games.
