After a stellar regular season, winning a share of the conference title, and first place in the Big 12 championship tournament, the No. 5 Baylor Lady Bears have high hopes for the NCAA tournament.
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Lady Bears won their fourth straight Big 12 title Monday night after beating the West Virginia Mountaineers 74-71. Baylor was led by freshman forward Nina Davis, the youngest player in the starting lineup, in a back-and-forth, physical title game thriller that saw nine lead changes.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Baylor earned its fourth straight berth to the Big 12 tournament championship game after beating the Oklahoma State Cowgirls 65-61 on Saturday at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla. Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey also earned her 400th career win on Saturday.
OKLAHOMA CITY – In their opening game of the Big 12 championship tournament, the Lady Bears cruised past the Kansas Jayhawks 81-47. Baylor (27-4) faces Oklahoma State (23-7) at 2 p.m. Sunday in the semifinal. OSU beat Iowa State on Saturday 67-57.
It has been a week of ups and downs for the Lady Bears— from a devastating home loss to West Virginia on Sunday to winning the Big 12 title on Tuesday against Iowa State. On top of that, multiple Lady Bears won conference awards. The active week continues for the Lady Bears as they head out to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 Tournament today.
