Diadeloso 2016

The annual Diadeloso held on Fountain Mall was a welcomed break from class for all students. Archery tag, a zip line, food, and exotic animals made this year’s Dia was one for the books. Students from all around flocked to Fountain Mall to celebrate the day.

While the Baylor events were a plus, many students were more excited about the chance to have a Tuesday off from school. With finals quickly approaching, this day was much needed for those stressing about the end of the school year. Erin McGrew, a sophomore from San Antonio said, “It’s just a great day to relax before finals start and just hang out with friends.” McGrew and a few of her friends were taking in the Guerrilla Troop act that was taking place early Tuesday morning next to the SUB.

Perhaps the highlight of the day was the appearance of a sloth and camels on Fountain Mall. Lindsey Bradford, a sophomore said, “My favorite activities will probably be the camel rides”. Hundreds lined up to take a picture with the sloth. Many more lined up to get a chance to ride one of the deserts most unique animals.

Overall this Dia seemed bigger and better than previous ones. The weather held out and made for a nice escape from class. There was something for everyone, whether it be food, animals, or just hanging out with your friends. Diadeloso 2016 was one to remember.
